abstract | (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To provide a thermosensitive recording medium excellent in recording running property and recording image quality. SOLUTION: In a heat-sensitive recording medium having a heat-sensitive recording layer containing an electron-donating compound and an electron-accepting compound, and a protective layer containing a pigment and an adhesive, at least as a pigment in the protective layer, A pigment surface-treated with a mono (di) alkyl phosphate or a salt thereof is used in an amount of 0.1 to 40% by mass based on the protective layer.
