abstract (57) [Problem] To provide an absorbent article capable of indicating by color change whether excrement such as urine has been absorbed, the discoloration does not occur only by contact with a small amount of moisture, and To provide an absorbent article that does not discolor even when stored under high temperature and high humidity. SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 of the present invention contains a hydrophilic composition containing an acidic compound and a color-forming indicator whose color changes with a change in pH. This hydrophilic composition exists between the back sheet 3 and the absorber 4. The back sheet 3 is made of a sheet material containing a water-soluble compound that exhibits alkalinity when dissolved in water.
