abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic element in which a silver ion-containing material is mixed into a photographic element and which has no excessive fog generation and has improved upper limit density, sensitivity and contrast. A photographic element comprising a support supporting at least one hydrophilic colloid layer comprising at least one photographic silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the photographic element comprises an isolated silver ion. A photographic element that is contained in at least one hydrophilic colloid layer in the form of a silver ion-containing material that previously sequesters silver ions and releases silver ions when exposed to a photographic processing solution.
