PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method of adding an additive to fuel oil, to greatly reduce NOx in combustion exhaust gas of fuel oil, and to deteriorate fuel oil over time. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for reducing NOx in combustion exhaust gas of fuel oil, which has no adverse effects such as corrosion of a fuel oil storage tank and an increase in deposits, and a fuel composition thereof. SOLUTION: The present invention is a method for reducing nitrogen oxides in combustion exhaust gas, comprising burning a fuel composition comprising a fuel oil and an oil-soluble molybdenum compound. further, The present invention includes a fuel composition comprising a fuel oil and an oil-soluble molybdenum compound, wherein the content of the oil-soluble molybdenum compound is 0.2 to 200 ppm by mass based on molybdenum atoms. |
