abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a complex carbohydrate useful for protection against infection of bacteria and viruses, adaptation to cardiovascular disorders, immunotherapy and the like, and a sugar nucleotide which is important as a synthetic substrate for the complex carbohydrate To provide an inexpensive and efficient manufacturing method. According to the present invention, a) a culture medium of a microorganism having an ability to produce NTP from a nucleotide precursor or a processed product of the culture medium and b) an ability to produce a sugar nucleotide from sugar and NTP. A method for producing sugar nucleotides using a culture solution of a microorganism or a processed product of the culture solution as an enzyme source, and the above a), b) and c) the ability to produce glycoconjugates from sugar nucleotides and glycoconjugate precursors. The present invention provides a method for producing a glycoconjugate using a microorganism, a culture solution of an animal cell or an insect cell, or a processed product of the culture solution as an enzyme source.
