(57) [Problem] To provide a method for producing aspartic acid amide and a derivative thereof using a microorganism, and a microorganism used for the method. SOLUTION: A microorganism transformed with a gene encoding aspartase and having a reduced or eliminated aspartic amide and its derivative-degrading activity due to disruption of a gene encoding α-aspartyl dipeptidase on chromosomal DNA. The aspartic acid amide and its derivative are produced by culturing in a medium in which the present microorganism can grow to produce aspartic acid amide and its derivative. |
