abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To provide an illuminating device which can illuminate a specific portion of an illuminated object in a limited manner and which does not make an illuminated portion difficult to see even if it is brought close to the illuminated object. I do. SOLUTION: After light from an LED 6 is incident on the inside of the light guide plate 2 from a side surface 5 of the light guide plate 2, the light traveling direction is changed inside the light guide plate 2 and propagates inside the light guide plate 2. The illumination device 1 emits light from an emission surface 8. The trunk 3 is rotatably supported by the support legs 4a and 4b. One end of the light guide plate 2 is fixed to the body 3. LEDs are arranged inside the body 3 and on the side surface 5 side of the light guide plate 2. The light guide plate 2 is formed of a light transmissive body that allows an object to be illuminated to be viewed from the back surface 7. On the back surface 7 side of the light guide plate 2, a large number of projections 8 are formed which reflect light propagating inside the light guide plate 2 and regulate the direction in which light is emitted from the emission surface 8.
