titleOfInvention Manufacturing method of rod lens
abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a method for manufacturing a rod lens which can be suitably used especially as a medical image guide. A transparent resin-made cylindrical clad is filled with a solution containing a refractive index controlling substance together with a monomer of a resin constituting the clad, and while the constituent resin of the wall surface of the clad is dissolved in the monomer, the clad is formed. In the method for producing a rod lens in which the monomer is polymerized while sequentially moving the refractive index controlling substance-containing gel layer concentrically from the wall surface to the inside, the cylindrical clad filled with the solution is loaded inside the deformation preventing tube. Then, a metal foil is arranged around the entirety of the deformation preventing tube, and the cylindrical clad is vertically arranged in a thermostatic chamber capable of reducing pressure, the solution injection port of the cylindrical clad is opened, and the pressure is reduced and increased. The above monomers are polymerized under warm conditions.
