titleOfInvention Radical polymerizable 2-imidazoline derivative and method for producing the same
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer excellent in thickening an aqueous solution, a radical polymerizable monomer having an imidazoline structure capable of forming the polymer, and a method for synthesizing the monomer. A radically polymerizable 2-imidazoline derivative represented by the following chemical formula (1) or a salt thereof. Embedded image (Wherein X represents an oxygen atom or an NH group, R 1 represents an alkyl group having 7 or more carbon atoms, R 2 represents a divalent organic residue, 3 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and n represents 2 or 3. Also, glycidyl (meth) acrylate is added to a carboxyl group-containing compound obtained by reacting a 2-imidazoline compound represented by the following chemical formula (2) with a dibasic acid anhydride represented by the chemical formula (3). A method for producing a radically polymerizable 2-imidazoline derivative represented by the chemical formula (1), characterized by reacting. Embedded image (In the formula, X represents an oxygen atom or an NH group, R 1 represents an alkyl group having 7 or more carbon atoms, and n represents 2 or 3.) (In the formula, R 2 represents a divalent organic residue.)
