abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the stability of an active material paste used for producing a non-sintered nickel electrode in which a discharge reserve is hardly formed on a negative electrode of an alkaline storage battery. SOLUTION: As a nickel electrode active material used in producing an active material paste, a nickel electrode active material produced by washing a nickel hydroxide-based material containing a higher cobalt compound with an aqueous acid solution is used. The higher-order cobalt compound-containing nickel hydroxide-based active material used here is usually prepared by using a nickel hydroxide-based material containing at least one of cobalt hydroxide and cobalt monoxide in an alkaline aqueous solution using an oxidizing agent. It is obtained by oxidation. |
