abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method capable of obtaining an oxide having high catalytic performance in a simple step, and to provide a method for polymerizing a cyclic ether using the obtained oxide as a catalyst. SOLUTION: After a carrier is impregnated with a solution or dispersion of a compound containing a metal element belonging to Groups 3 to 14 of the periodic table, the compound is supported on the carrier, and then the solution or the dispersion is added to the carrier. After a step of removing the used medium to a specific amount, the carrier support is brought into contact with a liquid basic substance and then calcined to produce an oxide. The cyclic ether is subjected to ring-opening polymerization using the oxide obtained by the above method as a catalyst to produce a corresponding polymer. |
