(57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To provide a method for refining high-purity metallic titanium efficiently and excellent in mass productivity. SOLUTION: A stainless steel container 8 containing a calcium chloride bath 17, an alumina container 16 containing the stainless steel container 8, a stainless steel lid 9 for closing an opening of the alumina container 16, and electricity for heating the calcium chloride bath 17 are provided. It has a furnace heating element 1, an argon gas inlet 4 and an argon gas outlet 5 provided in a stainless steel lid 9.
