abstract (57) Abstract: A novel tetracyclododecenecarboxylic acid ester and its (meth) acrylic acid adduct useful as a raw material for a photosensitive resist for semiconductor microfabrication and the like, a resin raw material for an optical material, and the like. It is intended to provide a method for producing them. According to the present invention, a compound represented by the general formula (I): (Wherein, R 1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R 2 represents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms. The present invention provides an alkyl-substituted tetracyclododecenecarboxylic acid ester represented by the formula: Further, according to the present invention, the compound represented by the general formula (II): (Wherein, R 1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R 2 represents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, and R 3 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group. And (meth) acrylic acid adducts of the alkyl-substituted tetracyclododecenecarboxylic acid esters represented by formula (1).
