abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] The present invention provides a β-protein with a high yield by a simple method. It is an object of the present invention to provide an industrially suitable method for producing an alkali metal salt of a β-oxonitrile derivative, which obtains an alkali metal salt of an oxonitrile derivative. An object of the present invention is to provide a compound represented by the general formula (1): (Wherein, R 1 and R 2 are groups not participating in the reaction (provided that R 2 represents a hydrogen atom). A carboxylic acid ester represented by the general formula (2): (Wherein, R 3 represents an alkyl group). A β-oxonitrile derivative characterized by reacting a nitrile compound represented by the formula: The problem is solved by a method for producing an alkali metal salt.
