abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber ribbon capable of improving the separability in a unit of an optical fiber or an optical fiber tape unit while maintaining required mechanical strength, and a manufacturing method thereof. Provide a method. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber tape core wire 10 in which a plurality of optical fiber wires 11 are arranged in parallel and a collective coating layer 12 is provided on the outer periphery thereof, the collective coating layer 12 has a foaming rate. Is composed of 20% to 50% of a foamed ultraviolet curable resin. Further, the manufacturing method is such that a plurality of optical fiber wires 11 are arranged in parallel, an ultraviolet curable resin containing a chemical foaming agent is applied to the outer periphery of the optical fibers, and an ultraviolet curable resin is applied to this coating layer to irradiate ultraviolet rays. The method comprises curing and foaming the resin to form a collective coating layer.
