(57) [Summary] An additive for controlling deposits on a direct injection gasoline engine. SOLUTION: (i) Formula: embedded image Wherein R 1 is a linear or branched saturated or unsaturated C 8-18 hydrocarbyl group, and (ii) a formula NH 2 —CH 2 —CH 2 —NH— R 2 wherein R 2 comprises (C x H 2x Z) y H, wherein x = 2 or 3, y = 0-4 and Z = NH or O. The fuel composition comprising the fuel-soluble reaction product obtained by the above reaction is supplied to the direct injection gasoline engine as a fuel to operate the direct injection gasoline engine, thereby reducing deposits on the direct injection gasoline engine. |
