abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide an image forming method of an ink jet recording material having good ink absorbency and glossiness, and capable of obtaining an image excellent in light fastness, indoor fading, and water fastness. A double-sided resin-coated paper provided with a resin coating layer on both sides of a plastic film or a base paper has at least one ink-receiving layer on at least one side, and a lower layer close to the support contains fumed silica. An image forming method for an ink jet recording material, wherein the uppermost layer contains alumina hydrate, and after forming an image on the ink receiving layer, a transparent resin protective layer is provided on the image forming surface. Further, a resin coating layer is provided on one side of the base paper, an ink receiving layer containing inorganic fine particles and a hydrophilic binder is provided on the other side, and after forming an image on the ink receiving layer, a transparent resin protective layer is provided on the image forming side.
