A tertiary amine is represented by the following formula (1): A quaternary ammonium hydroxycarboxylate, such as triethylmethylammonium 2-hydroxyisobutyrate, is produced as a specific example by quaternizing with the hydroxycarboxylate represented by the formula (1). By reacting a quaternary ammonium hydroxycarboxylate or a mixture thereof with an inorganic acid, a quaternary ammonium inorganic acid salt or a mixture thereof is obtained. |
