titleOfInvention Method and apparatus for measuring retained austenite in steel
abstract (57) [Summary] C: 0.06 to 0.25% by mass%, Si + Al: 0.5 to 3.5%, Mn: 1 to 6%, Provided is a method for accurately measuring a residual γ content in a steel material having a total content of alloy elements of 10% or less. SOLUTION: The saturation magnetization (I) of a sample to be measured having the above-mentioned component composition and the saturation magnetization (Is) when the residual γ content is substantially the same as the sample to be measured and the residual γ content is 0% by volume ratio. ) Is obtained by actual measurement or calculation, and the amount of retained austenite (γ R ) in the sample to be measured is calculated by the following equation (1). When Is is obtained by the actual measurement, it is preferable that a steel having substantially the same composition as the sample to be measured is subjected to austempering for a long time, or a sample obtained by subjecting the steel to strong cold working for Is measurement. γ R (% by volume) = (1−I / Is) × 100 (1)
