titleOfInvention | Method for producing methacrylic acid ester |
abstract | (57) [Problem] To efficiently produce an ether bond-containing methacrylic acid ester without generating a gelled product by polymerization of methacrylic acid. SOLUTION: Methacrylic acid and an ether bond-containing alcohol are present in the presence of an esterification catalyst and a polymerization inhibitor. (a) a hydrocarbon having a boiling point of 155 ° C. or more under normal pressure and (b) a 10% by volume distillation temperature under normal pressure of 155 ° C. In the presence of at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of the hydrocarbon-based mixed solvents described above, esterification is performed at a reaction temperature of 135 to 180 ° C. during the esterification reaction, so that a methacrylic acid ester of an ether bond-containing alcohol is obtained.
