(57) [Problem] To provide a method for efficiently removing organic halogen compounds, especially dioxins, in water. SOLUTION: Water containing an organic halogen compound is brought into contact with an activated carbon catalyst together with hydrogen peroxide, specifically activated carbon, or a catalyst containing activated carbon and a metal active component such as titanium, silicon, aluminum, zirconium and manganese. The organic halogen compound is adsorbed by bringing the organic halogen compound-containing water into contact with the activated carbon catalyst to adsorb the organic halogen compound, and then hydrogen peroxide is supplied to contact the activated carbon catalyst, whereby the organic halogen compound can be treated more efficiently. |
