titleOfInvention Method for producing 2-phenylethyl (meth) acrylate
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-purity, low-color, high-quality 2-phenylethyl (meth) acrylate in which the amount of a raw material alcohol and a polymerization inhibitor is small and the production of a polymer is suppressed, and the amount is small. And a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This is a method for producing 2-phenylethyl (meth) acrylate by performing an esterification reaction between (meth) acrylic acid and 2-phenylethyl alcohol in the presence of an acid catalyst such as paratoluenesulfonic acid. A method for producing 2-phenylethyl (meth) acrylate, wherein the amount of the acid catalyst used is 0.05 to 0.5 mol per 1 mol of 2-phenylethyl alcohol.
