abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the electrical conductivity and the hypochlorous acid generation efficiency by removing the deposits adhering to the cathode without performing complicated maintenance work. An acid generator is provided. SOLUTION: In a hypochlorous acid generator 1 in which an electric current flows between an anode 6 and a cathode 7 immersed in the water to be treated to generate hypochlorous acid in the water to be treated by electrolysis, bubbles are generated in the water to be treated. An air bubble generator 9 for generating air is provided below the cathode 7, and the air bubbles generated by the air bubble generator 9 are raised along the surface of the cathode 9.
