abstract (57) [Problem] To form an image using a photoreceptor conventionally used as a writing light source with a short-wavelength, small-diameter beam light, dot reproducibility is improved over the entire image forming area. Provided are an image forming apparatus, a process cartridge, and an image forming method capable of obtaining high-quality images with very little density unevenness. An image forming apparatus includes: an image exposure apparatus using a semiconductor laser having an oscillation wavelength of 380 to 450 nm as a writing light source; and a photosensitive member having sensitivity to the writing light source. It is installed at a position where the maximum light incident angle of incident light within the laser scanning range from the image exposure device is 25 ° or less.
