[Problem] To provide a dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion element and a photovoltaic cell excellent in conversion efficiency, and a transition metal complex dye which can be suitably used for these. A conductive support and a photosensitive layer, the photosensitive layer containing semiconductor fine particles sensitized by a transition metal complex dye containing a ligand represented by the following general formula (I): A characteristic photoelectric conversion element. [Chemical 1] In the general formula (I), Y 10 is 5 to 5 together with the carbon atom and the nitrogen atom. This represents an atomic group forming a 7-membered ring. |
