abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a method of manufacturing a color filter capable of improving the adhesion and flatness of a protective film of the color filter. In a method of manufacturing a color filter in which a black matrix pattern and three colors of RGB or CMY are arranged on a part of a transparent substrate 1 and a protective layer 6 is provided thereon, a black matrix 2 and a three-color array pattern part are provided. After shielding the light and subjecting only the non-color filter forming portion to the ultraviolet ray surface treatment, the protective layer 6 is formed.
