A device for removing soot particles from exhaust gas from a diesel engine, comprising: a deep bed particle filter, the catalyst comprising: a catalyst for oxidizing nitric oxide to nitrogen dioxide; A deep bed particle filter coated with a coating; and a second particle filter having a filtration efficiency of greater than 95%, wherein the second particle filter is downstream from the deep bed particle filter. A device comprising a second filter.
