titleOfInvention | Method for producing optically active γ-butyrolactone |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically active 3-hydroxy-γ- industrially excellent in economical efficiency and short process by using easily available and inexpensive raw materials and easily handleable reagents. A novel method for producing butyrolactone is provided. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a compound represented by the following general formula (2): (Wherein R 1 is a lower alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; 2 is a hydroxyl-protecting group which is deprotected by hydrogenation with a heterogeneous hydrogenation catalyst, and * means an asymmetric carbon atom. (1) hydrogenating an optically active 4-substituted oxy-3-hydroxybutyric acid ester represented by the formula (1) in the presence of a heterogeneous hydrogenation catalyst and an acidic substance, followed by deprotection and ring closure. Formula (1) Formula (1) (In the formula, * has the same meaning as described above.) A method for producing an optically active 3-hydroxy-γ-butyrolactone represented by the formula: |
