abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-swelling gel having excellent water absorption, high water absorption speed, and most of the water-absorbing polymer fixed on a fibrous base material with good stability. To provide a water-absorbing composite having excellent fixability. The water-absorbing composite has a water-absorbing polymer particle immobilized on a fibrous base material, wherein at least a part of the water-absorbing polymer particle is composed of primary particles having an average particle diameter of 50 to 1000 µm. At least 80% by weight of the primary particles are bonded to each other to form agglomerated particles while maintaining substantially their particle shape, and a part of the primary particles constituting the agglomerated particles is a fibrous base material.
