titleOfInvention | Magnetic recording media |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium in which the surface roughness of a non-magnetic support can be sufficiently relaxed and a non-magnetic layer is used to improve the smoothness of the magnetic layer and the hitting characteristics to a magnetic head. By doing so, the electromagnetic conversion characteristics and durability are improved. SOLUTION: A non-magnetic coating composed of only a binder having a Tg of 30 ° C. or lower and a magnetic coating composed of magnetic powder are used. Then, a non-magnetic support and a magnetic layer are formed by applying the non-magnetic support to the non-magnetic support in a thickness of 0.3 μm or more and 1.0 μm or more, respectively, by a two-layer simultaneous coating method. As the binder, for example, a polyester polyurethane resin having a molecular weight of 15,000 to 20,000 is used. The surface roughness Ra of the magnetic layer is 12.0 nm or less, and the improvement rate of the surface roughness of the non-magnetic support by the magnetic layer is 0.8 or less. |
