abstract | (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To obtain oxathiazines of high purity. SOLUTION: The method of the present invention is obtained by cyclizing a sulfonic acid represented by the following formula (1a), and converting the oxathiazine (1) from a reaction mixture containing the oxathiazine represented by the following formula (1). A) separating the oxathiazines (1) into a second aqueous layer by adding water to the separated organic layer, and distributing the oxathiazines (1) to a second aqueous layer.
