titleOfInvention | Continuous rotary vacuum retort apparatus and method of use |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for removing at least one volatile contaminant from a contaminated material by subjecting the contaminated material to a vacuum treatment at an elevated temperature using a rotary vacuum retort. About. The charging and discharging are carried out in such a way that the introduction of low-boiling gases can be minimized. In one preferred embodiment, the device uses an elastomer pinch valve to isolate the entire system between the airlock and the vacuum generator. In another embodiment, at least one substance transport element is used. Also, the contaminated material may be dried in a dryer before being introduced into the retort. Furthermore, the decontaminated material can be cooled through a heat exchanger before being discharged. |
