abstract | (57) [Summary]nMixed backbone oligomeric compounds having at least one phosphodiester internucleoside linkage in addition to one or more of the phosphorothioate, phosphoramidate and boranophosphate internucleoside linkages are prepared. Novel H-phosphonate intermediates useful in the synthesis have also been disclosed. The synthesis oxidizes the H-phosphonate internucleoside linkage to a phosphodiester internucleoside linkage without degradation of adjacent phosphorothioate, phosphoramidate and boranophosphate nucleoside linkages using a novel oxidation step. . Synthetic intermediates useful in such methods are also provided. |
