Apparatus and method for efficiently processing biological samples on slides |
abstract |
(57) Summary A method for processing biological samples on microscope slides (70) is described. One embodiment of the present invention uses pre-dried reagents in wells (24) on trays (90) with slides placed thereon, in particular, uses pre-dried multiple reagents that dissolve sequentially. That is. Another aspect of the invention is to use an external control (230) placed directly on a microscope slide (70) in conjunction with the biological sample to be assayed. An external control (230) can be conveniently placed on a membrane that can be affixed to a slide. A further aspect of the present invention is a tray (90) specially designed to allow for total chromosome coloring of all chromosomes of a cell sample on a single slide. The present invention also shows a coverslip (500) having a group of concave wells that is positioned opposite the slide (70) and serves as a reaction chamber when filled with buffer. Preferably, the reagent is pre-dried in the well (24). A further aspect of the present invention is to place a plurality of slides (70) in a reaction chamber (280), along with a coverslip (500) with reagents pre-dried on the surface, to react samples on them. Is the way. |
