Methods for treating cancer and mediating dendritic cell chemotaxis |
abstract |
(57) [Summary]nThe invention provides a method of treating a cancer or a hyperproliferative disorder in a mammalian subject. The method includes administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of SLC. SLCs useful in the methods of the invention include SLC polypeptides, SLC variants and SLC fragments and related SLC nucleic acids. Further, the present invention provides a method for modulating dendritic cell function in a mammal. The method comprises the step of administering to the mammal a therapeutically effective amount of an SLC agent. Such methods can be used to increase or decrease the immune response in a mammal, especially the primary immune response. This method is particularly useful in preventing transplant rejection and treating autoimmune diseases. Alternatively, this method can be used to enhance an immune response. |
