titleOfInvention | Contact lens cleaner containing biguanide, tyloxapol and poloxamine |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nThe present invention relates to a disinfectant solution containing biguanide, which is particularly useful for contact lens solutions containing tyloxapol in combination with poloxamine for stabilizing biguanide to enhance disinfecting and cleaning efficacy. The method of the present invention includes the step of washing and disinfecting the contact lens with the solution. Specifically, the present invention includes the steps of contacting a contact lens with an aqueous solution having a pH of 5-8 and containing: (a) an effective amount of at least one polymeric biguanide fungicide; b) an effective amount of a poloxamine surfactant, wherein the surfactant comprises at least about 90% by weight of poly (oxyethylene) segments and poly (oxypropylene) in one or more copolymer chains; A poloxamine surfactant containing a segment; and (c) an effective amount of tyloxapol. |
