titleOfInvention Cannula tent
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stent having high strength and flexibility in a radial direction and resistant to pulsatile expansion and contraction. The stent is formed from a cannula and has alternating flexible segments and high hoop strength segments. A shaft connecting bar interconnects the segments to minimize length reduction due to expansion. In the unexpanded state, the struts in the high hoop strength segment are parallel, while the struts in the flexible segment extend from the bend and converge at the other end. In one embodiment, the gap between some struts of the hoop segment is large and the gap between other struts is small. In another embodiment, the gap between the struts in the hoop segment is moderate and uniform, thereby minimizing the onset of metal strain in the strained portion during repeated pulsation expansion / contraction.
