titleOfInvention Method of molding a light extraction mechanism on a light guide
abstract (57) Abstract: A method is provided for molding a lighting device using an open mold. This method allows the use of a curable material to add light extraction structures to the prefabricated light guide. A mold including an extraction structure is first provided. A cured molding material and a pre-manufactured light guide are placed in the mold, and an overlay of light extraction structures is cured on the light guide to provide a functional lighting device.
