Abstract: A method and system for selecting and ordering a broadcast program (197), wherein the electronic program can be broadcast to subscribers or posted on an Internet web site (10).・ Use a guide. This system allows the National Broadcasting Station (110) to provide one or more channels of pay-per-view or subscription programming and establish a mechanism for charging subscribers accessing the program. The subscriber can access the Internet (105) and send program requests to the web site (106). Next, the authentication (196) is sent to the charging center (194) and the local broadcasting station (114). The billing center (194) debits or generates a bill for the subscriber's account. The local broadcaster (114) sends the certificate to the subscriber. The authentication (196) includes a program code and a terminal identifier (197) that allows the subscriber's television (170) or set-top terminal (220) to decrypt and display the program (197). |
