titleOfInvention | Diagnostic test kit and method for severe acute pancreatitis |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nDisclosed are in vitro diagnostic methods for severe acute pancreatitis, a carboxypeptidase B activating peptide (CAPAP) having SEQ ID NO: 1 (amino acids 1-81) or a fragment thereof, and a test kit, preferably a dipstick. The method comprises: A) a sample of a bodily fluid, a) a first antibody that binds to CAPAP of SEQ ID NO: 1 and b) a second antibody that binds to CAPAP of SEQ ID NO: 1 excluding the site in a), or C) CAPAP or a fragment thereof bound to the solid phase of SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein one of the antibodies a) and b) or the peptide of c) is labeled with a non-radioactive label; Contacting at least one of the antibodies with one that is monospecific for CAPAP; B) measuring the concentration of the formed antibody-antigen-antibody complex or of the excess component in the competing antigen-antibody reaction; C) Using the measured concentrations to estimate the amount of CAPAP in the sample and diagnosing severe acute pancreatitis in the patient. |
