titleOfInvention | Detection of human herpes virus 6 (HHV6) |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nThe present invention relates to a method for detecting a viral pathogen, in particular human herpes virus 6 (HHV6), preferably using PCR, and primer sequences useful in this method. In a first aspect, the present invention relates to an isolated nucleic acid molecule, which is complementary and specific to HHV6, selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 1 or 2 or functional equivalents thereof. It is composed of those containing the sequence to be performed. A method for detecting HHV6 in a sample suspected of being contaminated with HHV6 is to appropriately amplify the viral DNA in the sample by PCR using an outer primer complementary to the viral DNA, A pair of internal oligonucleotide primers complementary to the six HHVs are added, and the sample is subjected to PCR to amplify the HHV6 DNA sandwiched by the inner primers present in the sample and to detect the amplified HHV6 DNA Consisting of |
