titleOfInvention | Absorbent articles with improved wet ventilation |
abstract | (57) [Summary] An absorbent article includes a vapor-permeable backsheet, a liquid-permeable topsheet positioned in a facing relationship with the backsheet, and an absorber disposed between the backsheet and the topsheet. The absorbent may include a number of highly breathable areas, or may include a material that improves air exchange after wetting. Further, the absorbent article can include a ventilation layer between the absorber and the back sheet, and a surge control layer between the absorber and the top sheet. The article improves air exchange inside the article during use. As a result, the article can substantially reduce the level of moisture added to the wearer's skin during use, thereby reducing the skin's sensitivity to microbial viability. |
