titleOfInvention | Infrared light emitting diode |
abstract | (57) [Summary] An infrared light emitting diode device includes an infrared light emitting diode that emits positive light when forward biased and emits negative light when reverse biased. The diode is driven by alternating forward and reverse bias inputs such that the difference in output power between positive and negative emission of the light emitting diode is stabilized with respect to temperature. Infrared light emitting diode devices have particular application as light sources for gas sensors, reducing or eliminating the need for temperature control for infrared light emitting diode light sources. |
