abstract | (57) [Summary]nThe present invention discloses a method of copolymerizing a conjugated diolefin, if desired, in combination with another unsaturated compound copolymerizable with the conjugated diolefin. The polymerization of the conjugated diolefin can be carried out at a temperature of -30 to + 100 ° C in the presence of a vinyl aromatic compound solvent and in the presence of a catalyst comprising a rare earth metal compound, cyclopentadiene and an organoaluminum compound. According to the method of the present invention, a copolymer solution such as a styrene-butadiene-copolymer having various styrene contents and various 1,2- and cis unit contents in a vinyl aromatic compound with respect to a diolefin is easily prepared. The solution can be further processed to produce ABS or HIPS. |
