titleOfInvention | Sealing system for automotive ceiling frames |
abstract | (57) [Summary] This is a closed system for ceiling frames of automobiles. Where the sealing system (12) includes at least one sealing profile section (14) for an automotive ceiling frame having at least one movable, frameless windshield (44), each sealing profile section (14). 14) includes a profile strip (29) reinforced by a reinforcement (25) and composed of at least one elastomer. The profile strip (29) cooperates with the front glass (44) to form a closed structure. The stiffener (25) is formed as an injection molded part of a prefabricated synthetic material and has a profile bar (29) on at least a part of its surface in the forming tool. The stiffener (25) has a substantially U-shaped cross-section with a base (26) and rims (27, 28) extending from the base (26), at least approximately along its entire length. The sealing system (2; 12) is formed in a three-dimensional form and can be fixed to the connecting part (36) of the ceiling frame (37) by means of a mounting element (57). The reinforcement (25) and the profile strip (29) are in each case vertically partitioned into parts (18, 20; 19, 22) in the region of the base (26), and a part ( 18, 21) are separately provided with the associated profile strip pieces (19, 22) in the forming tool. |
