abstract | (57) [Summary] [Problem] To provide an absorbent article having improved stool handling characteristics. SOLUTION: Receiving feces having a first waste area, a second waste area opposite to the first waste area, and a crotch area disposed between the first waste area and the second waste area. A liquid-permeable topsheet, a liquid-impermeable backsheet connected to at least a portion of the topsheet, and disposed between at least a portion of the topsheet and the backsheet. An absorbent article comprising an absorbent core and an effective amount of a calcium-based fecal modifier disposed within the article so as to be available for contact with at least some feces. |
