titleOfInvention Use in the manufacture of devices including elastomeric masks and pixelated electroluminescent displays
abstract (57) Abstract: An elastomer mask is provided that allows the deposition of various materials through a mask opening. The mask effectively seals to the substrate surface and allows for easy deposition from a liquid phase, gas phase, etc., and removal of material using a gas or fluid etch. The mask can then simply be peeled off the surface of the substrate, leaving behind the patterned material. Describes a multi-layered mask technique in which openings in the upper mask allow selected openings in the lower mask to remain unobstructed and other openings in the lower mask are occluded. . A first deposition step followed by reorientation of the upper mask to expose a different set of openings in the lower mask comprises selectively depositing different materials at different openings in the lower mask. Enable. A pixellated organic electroluminescent device is provided via the techniques described herein.
