titleOfInvention | Polymer supported catalyst for olefin polymerization |
abstract | (57) SUMMARY The described invention is directed to a low fouling, high particle density polymerization process, and crosslinked polymer beads having a surface area of about 1 to 20 m 2 / g to which multiple non-coordinating anions are attached. An olefin comprising a bead comprising a ligand wherein the polymer support is covalently bonded to a central metal or metalloid atom of the anion, and an effective number of cationic species to achieve a balanced charge. A polymerization cocatalyst activator composition is provided. The present invention also provides for the polymerization of a) said cocatalyst activator and b) an auxiliary ligand, at least one variable ligand capable of undergoing protonation abstraction and, among them, an olefinic monomer. An olefin polymerization catalyst composition is provided that includes a reaction product with an organometallic transition metal compound having at least one variable ligand that can be inserted. In a preferred embodiment, the polymer support has a surface area of ≦ 10 m 2 / g and is particularly suitable for use with highly active organometallic transition metal catalyst compounds. |
