titleOfInvention | Apparatus and method for anchoring autologous or artificial tendon grafts in bone |
abstract | SUMMARY An anchor assembly for an autologous or artificial tendon graft is provided that includes an insertion element having a strut and a strut head with a hole proximate the strut. The hole is large enough to receive an autologous tendon graft, such as a crescent or tendon. The assembly also includes a stabilizing element adapted to be implanted in the bone. The stabilizing element includes a sleeve with a cavity that may have an elongated axial groove and an arrangement for receiving and retaining the post of the insertion element. The insertion element can be tapped into the stabilizer element, or the insertion element can be modified to include holes, barbs, slots or hooks to allow the insertion element to be pulled into the stabilizer element. . |
