abstract | (57) SUMMARY The present invention provides novel polypeptides having homology to the PRO533 protein and nucleic acid molecules encoding the polypeptides. A chimeric polypeptide molecule containing the polypeptide of the present invention fused to a vector containing the nucleic acid sequence and a heterologous polypeptide sequence of a host cell; an antibody that binds to the polypeptide of the present invention; and a polypeptide for producing the polypeptide of the present invention. A method is also provided herein. The present invention relates to compositions and methods for diagnosing and treating neoplastic cell growth and proliferation in mammals, including humans. The invention is based on the identification of genes that are amplified in the genome of tumor cells. Such gene amplification is predicted to be linked to overexpression of gene production and gives oncogenesis and / or autocrine signaling. |
